Tune up drills are some of the first things we do with dog in the spring to get their confidence up and getting running water blinds hard. We normally do this when we can do it 5 days in a row.  This is when the dog gets the most benefit from it.   Here are three examples that can be run at some of our training grounds at Stonewall Boarding Kennels.

This is an advanced tune up drill. This is done with a dog once the water is warm enough and is done every spring with them until they stop getting run in hunt tests or field trials. I run this with my two dogs every spring, this is something to be done with an advanced dog not a  senior level dog or accomplished master dog.

An example for a senior level drill for a dog this is handling well and can do blinds might be the diagram below.

This is an example of go by the point and stay in the water the easiest concept we teach, once a junior dog is handling and can do a channel blind you could do this drill.
